The Great Outdoor Beaver Meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous is held every Labor Day Weekend in the beautiful alpine community of Beaver, Utah. The Campvention is staged outdoors a few miles from the center of town in a lush green valley surrounded by 11,000 foot high mountains at close to 6,000 feet above sea level. The area surrounding Beaver boasts National Forest land, lakes for fishing, hundreds of miles of hiking, ATV trails, State Park land, a National Monument, two spectacular National Parks (Bryce and Zion Canyon) and some of the most diverse and awe-inspiring countryside anywhere in the American West. Beaver, Utah is located on Interstate 15 about 500 miles from the Los Angeles area, 3 hours north of Las Vegas, Nevada and 200 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Festivities will begin this year on Thursday, August 31st, in the late afternoon and continue to approximately 12 noon on Sunday, September 3rd, 2017. The events include Speaker Meetings, Marathon Meetings, A Golf Tournament, Motorcycle Events, Barbeque Dinner, Live Music, a Fishing Derby and our wonderful bottomless cup of coffee.
The pre-registration fee is only $12.00 per person and $17.00 after August 1 and at the entrance. Make sure to bring a few extra bucks to get your share of the wonderful selection of Event T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and other souveniors at reasonable prices. The Motels and Campgrounds in town offer great rates and every year the entire community of Beaver, Utah welcomes The Great Outdoor Beaver Meeting event with open arms!
If you are able to arrive in town early, you are encouraged to be a part of the set-up crew on Thursday morning. The crew meets at the Beaver Canyon Campground (see Flier for address) around 9 AM MST or at the Racetrack at 11 AM. If other areas of service are more to your liking, assistance is always needed with Registration, Souvenir Sales, and making the coffee that we provide FREE throughout the Campvention.
A California Planning Committee meets once each month from February through August at various locations across Southern California. There is also a Utah Planning Committee that meets in Beaver. You are welcome to join the committee and help plan the event if that interests you. Please call any of the peole listed in the contact box on the flier if you would like to be a part of the planning team. We are always interested in having new sober members of Alcoholics Anonymous volunteer to help with the planning process.
Each year, around 400 sober people descend upon the town of Beaver, Utah to share their their sobriety and their experience strength and hope in solving our common problem. Please join us this year in trudging the road of happy destiny. It will be a very special experience you will not soon forget.
